Abstract
Purpose: There have been many studies about efficacy of human amnion since Davis1) used human amnion in wound healing in 1910. However, human amnion has difficulty to get donors, risk of vertical infection and it is unhandy to store and manage. To make up for the disadvantage, Amnisite BA¢ç was commercialized from bovine amnion after processes of disinfected, dry, and radiation. We observe clinical features by applying Amnisite BA¢ç in second degree burned patients.

Methods: We applied Amnisite BA¢ç to 28 patients who got second degree burn and hospitalized from October 2007 to March 2008. The distribution of age is 8 to 65 (The average age is 36¡¾15.6). 11 of patients were men, and 17 of them were women. Among 28 patients, the number of flame burn are 16, scalding burn are 11, and steam burn case is 1.

Results: All of 28 patients were healed after we applied Amnisite BA¢ç in 6~18 days (The average days are 8.2 days¡¾2.8 days) without any complication. In control group of them, (10 cases) the average epithelization days of the part which was applied Amnisite BA¢ç is 8.7¡¾1.2 days, while average epithelization days of the other part which got just dressing is 11.6¡¾1.6 days.

Conclusion: Biological dressing is very efficient medical treatment because of many advantages. We can find advantages of application of Amnisite BA¢ç in second degree burned patients such as relief of pain, early epithelization, and convenience of treatment.
